Paris-5th of January 2012 – Digital TV experts since 1998, France and Singapore based httv, has chosen Nokia’s Qt UI and application framework to offer advanced UI features in its set-top box turnkey solution httvBOX. httvBOX can be seen on Nokia Qt’s booth during the CES at South Hall 2, Ground Level, MP#25182.

httv first launched its httvBOX last September at the IBC show in Amsterdam. httvBOX is an embedded software solution for connected TVs and STBs available for all TV distribution platforms: from broadcast (DVB-T/T2/S/S2/C front-ends) to IP (IPTV, OTT) including hybrid boxes. It offers an extensive range of features such as user based profile UI, nonlinear TV services (Push-VOD, catch-up TV), enhanced EPG. It is also fully compliant with HbbTV, the fast growing new European standard for hybrid interactive TV.

httv has chosen Nokia’s Qt technology for its top-performing UI creation framework. It helped the httvBOX team to speed up development and reduce the time to market. With its cross-platform code, Qt also enables the deployment of httvBOX on various chipsets without additional development.

Recognized as the most successful achiever of a Qt implementation on an STB, httv had recently been invited by Nokia to present httvBOX at Qt Developer Days in Munich. Nokia now offers httv the opportunity to bring the httvBOX to the attention of a much wider and international audience at CES in Las Vegas from January 10th to 13th, 2012. The demo can be seen at South Hall 2, Ground Level, MP#25182.

“We are very enthusiastic about Nokia’s Qt technology and the results we achieved with our own turnkey STB solution. Qt is a very efficient development framework shortening the crucial time-to-market factor. We now intend to build a strong and lasting partnership with Nokia”, says Mr. Philippe Tommasi, httv’s Sales Director for EMEA and LATAM, adding: “Indeed, the cross-platform code of Qt and its intuitive approach leverages httv’s responsiveness to client’s requirements.”
Mr. Tommasi will be available for meetings at the CES 2012. He can be reached at +336 7964 4509
